Analysts from Vizient and Kaufman Hall looked at trends for health systems in 2025. In a new report, they projected some of the new strategies they’ll be pursuing in the coming year. Health systems may see more emphasis and gains on the “less glamorous” uses of AI to improve their operations, such as finding new efficiency and automating more functions.

Denials top reason for eroding provider-payer relationship

A new report by the Healthcare Financial Management Association shows a deteriorating relationship between providers and payers. Nearly 60% of health system CFOs surveyed said their relationships with health plans have changed for the worse over the past three years. Eighty percent cited an “intentional or systematic effort” by payers to increase denials, according to the report.
