John Sparby

John joined R1 in January 2004 and currently serves as President. John is the operational leader of our revenue cycle customer engagements.

Prior to this role, he served in various other positions including leader of the East region, leader of the Ascension Michigan Market, and other leadership roles in our Shared Services group. He brings extensive experience in all aspects of running modern revenue cycle operations. Prior to joining R1, John spent seven years at Stockamp & Associates leading large-scale, end-to-end revenue cycle re-engineering projects for primarily academic health systems achieving 3%-4% in annual P&L benefit as well as significant balance sheet improvements. Prominent clients included NY Presbyterian, Continuum Health Partners of NY, University of Iowa Health System, UC San Diego Medical Center, University of Colorado Health System. John received a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration and Political Science from Concordia College. He resides in Birmingham, Michigan
